Blood Sugar Supplements List: Eight Ingredients and Their Studied Doses
A blood sugar supplements list usually names chromium, gymnema, ginseng, African mango, green tea, carnitine, forskolin and raspberry ketone. Each has a studied dose and weak or mixed results. Payarmin's label carries all eight, seven in a 200 mg blend with no single amounts.

What are the common ingredients in blood sugar supplements?
Eight turn up again and again: chromium, gymnema, Panax ginseng, African mango, green tea, L-carnitine, Coleus forskohlii and raspberry ketone. Most carry caveats.
The table gives the studied dose, the place on the Payarmin label and the result.
| Ingredient | Studied dose | Payarmin place | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chromium | 200-1,000 mcg | First line, 0.7 mcg | Mixed (NIH ODS, Chromium) |
| Gymnema | 200-400 mg | #8 of 22 | Small, varied (Drugs.com, Gymnema monograph) |
| Panax ginseng | 100 mg to 20 g (root) | #12 of 22, aerial | Fasting glucose, small (Shishtar et al., PLoS One 2014) |
| African mango | 150 mg twice a day | #4 of 22 | Weak (MSKCC, Irvingia gabonensis (African mango)) |
| Green tea | 141-1,207 mg catechins | #7 of 22 | Modest, rare liver risk (NCCIH, Green Tea) |
| L-carnitine | 2-3 g | #22 of 22 | Some glucose gain (NIH ODS, Carnitine) |
| Coleus forskohlii | 500 mg of 10% extract | #9 of 22 | No weight effect (MSKCC, Forskolin (Coleus forskohlii)) |
| Raspberry ketone | Only in combos | #13 of 22 | No human data alone (OPSS (DoD), Raspberry Ketone) |
Why do the studied doses look so large next to a label?
Studies dose in capsules and powders, while a drop shares a milliliter. The label caps the whole blend at 200 mg per serving.
L-carnitine shows the gap best. It sits last on the list, so its ceiling is 200 divided by 22, about 9.09 mg. The type 2 studies used 2 to 3 grams.
Two grams is 2,000 mg. That is more than ten times the weight of the whole Payarmin blend.
Which Payarmin lines are not on the usual lists?
Fifteen blend lines fall outside these eight, such as maca, grape seed, guarana, eleuthero, astragalus and seven amino acids. They appear because of tonic or energy marketing, not blood sugar trials.
Guarana adds caffeine, as does green tea, and the label gives no amount (MSKCC, Guarana). Licorice compound can affect blood pressure at large or long use (NCCIH, Licorice Root).
The drops also contain xylitol, which is dangerous to dogs (FDA, Paws Off Xylitol).

See packsHow should you use a list like this?
Use it to question a label, not to build a stack. A name on a list is not a dose and not a promise.
Chromium, gymnema and ginseng may add to the effect of diabetes drugs. Tell your pharmacist before combining them.

FAQ01
More about the ingredient list
Is cinnamon in Payarmin?
No. The 22 blend lines include no cinnamon or berberine. They are named in NCCIH's discussion of weak evidence, but they are not on this label. The first blend line is maca.
Which ingredient on this list has the most research?
Ginseng has the largest pooled set here, 16 trials with 770 people, though it measured fasting glucose only. Payarmin's line is an aerial extract, which is less studied than root.
Do all eight ingredients carry safety cautions?
Most do. Forskolin can lower blood pressure, green tea extracts can rarely injure the liver, and gymnema may add to diabetes drugs. Read each caution on the ingredient pages.
